For ballet dancers and ballet learner, I believe they must have faced the problem of toes injured because of doing pointe work. I did have this experenice before. I had to practise for my RAD examination, so i did the pointe exercise three to four hours each day. However, after a few days, almost all of my toes become injuried. It's really painful and I still need to keep on practise. That's really a terrible memory!!
After that, I find that a pair of gel toe pads can help a lot to solve this problem and I can do the pointe exercise more easy. It is because it can totally fit your feet and give a great protection. More, it is really longlasting. Although it is more expensive than normal toe pads(about US$5), I think it is worth as it will not broke easily.
At first, I used the Ultra Lite Toe Pads by Eurotard. It is US$18.95. In my opinion, it is a bit too thick. Also, it is too sticky and make me feel difficult to wear pointe shoe. What's more, when I am wearing this toe pads, I have to wear a bigger size pointe shoes.
Therefore, for using gel toe pads, I prefer using the Soft Pointe Gel Pads by Leos. It is US$13.25 which is cheaper than the Eurotard one. On the other hands, it is slighter. I think the thickness is suitable that I don't have to wear a pair of bigger size pointe shoes. Also, it do not sticky like the Ultra Lite Toe Pads though it is still a bit sticky. One of the main point is that I like the colour of the toe pads by Leos much more. They are in lovely pink or purple!!!!
Wash them after using would be better. After washing, I would suggest to use body powder or talcum powder on the toe pads because after using it would not be sticky.
